Privacy Policy
What we collect, why we hold it, who else it reaches, and what you can tell us to stop.

Who is responsible for your data
PENDING — the operating legal entity and its registered address are being confirmed and will be named here. Until then, the publisher of Franpulse.ai is the controller of the data described below, and every request in this policy is answered through the contact desk.
Franpulse.ai is published in English, Vietnamese and Chinese and is read in the European Union, the United Kingdom, Asia and the Americas. We therefore treat the GDPR (including Art. 3(2), which applies because we offer this service to people in the EU wherever we are established), the UK GDPR, and the California Consumer Privacy Act as amended by the CPRA as all applying here.
What we collect
- Contact desk — your name, email address, organisation, the topic you pick, the message you write, and the interface language you were using.
- Newsletter and waitlist — your email address, and nothing else. There is no hidden profile attached to it.
- Ask Franki and the AI tools — the question or text you type. Do not paste anything confidential into them; see “AI features” below.
- Claim submissions and story tips — whatever you choose to write in the form, plus the contact details you give so we can follow up.
- Technical request data — your IP address is read from the request header to enforce rate limits (five submissions per fifteen minutes, per address). It is used for that check and for the hosting provider’s own security logs. We do not build a profile from it.
We do not ask for, and have no use for, special-category data: health, biometrics, political opinions, religion, trade-union membership, sex life or sexual orientation. Please do not send it.
Why we hold it, and on what legal basis
- To answer you — replying to a message, a tip or a correction. Legal basis: our legitimate interest in answering people who write to us, and steps taken at your request.
- To send the newsletter — legal basis: your consent, given by submitting the form. Every edition carries an unsubscribe link, and unsubscribing takes effect immediately.
- To run the AI tools you asked for — legal basis: performance of the service you requested.
- To keep the site standing up — rate limiting and abuse prevention. Legal basis: our legitimate interest in a service that is not knocked over by bots.
Who else receives it
These are processors acting on our instructions. They are not given your data to use for their own purposes.
- Vercel — hosting. Serves every page and holds short-lived request logs.
- Supabase — the database where submissions are stored.
- Wix — a mirror copy of enquiry records, kept so the wider FranchisePulse and Nguyen Phi Van ecosystem shows one consistent record.
- Resend — delivers the emails we send you and the notification that reaches our desk.
- Anthropic — the Claude models behind Ask Franki and the AI tools. The text you submit is sent to Anthropic to generate the answer.
We also disclose personal data where the law requires it — a binding order from a competent authority — and we will tell you when we are permitted to.
We do not sell your personal information
We do not sell personal information for money or other valuable consideration, and we do not share it for cross-context behavioural advertising, as those terms are defined by the CPRA. We do not pass your details to franchise brands, and we do not run a pay-per-lead arrangement on this site. Editorial independence is the product here; selling the reader would end it.
AI features
Ask Franki answers only from a published, dated FranchisePulse corpus and cites the page each fact came from. It can still be wrong, and it is not legal, tax or investment advice. What you type is sent to Anthropic to produce the answer and is retained by us only as far as needed to run and debug the feature.
We do not use what you type to train any model, and we do not make automated decisions about you that produce legal or similarly significant effects.
Cookies, analytics and third-party scripts
This site sets no advertising cookies and carries no advertising or cross-site analytics trackers. A chat widget is loaded from bots.nguyenphivan.com, which is operated by us on the same terms as this site; opening a chat sends what you type to that service so it can reply.
How long we keep it
- Newsletter subscriptions — until you unsubscribe, then removed from the sending list.
- Enquiries, tips and corrections — kept while the matter is open and for a reasonable period afterwards as an editorial record.
- Rate-limit counters — held in memory and discarded within minutes.
If you ask us to delete your data sooner, see the next section.
Your rights
Depending on where you live, you can ask us to give you a copy of your data, correct it, delete it, restrict or object to how we use it, port it elsewhere, or withdraw a consent you gave. Under the CPRA you may also ask what we collected and request deletion or correction. We will not treat you worse for asking.
Make any of these requests through the contact desk, choosing the privacy topic. We answer within one month, and we will tell you if we need longer. If you are in the EU or the UK, you may also complain to your national data protection authority.
Where your data goes
Our processors operate internationally, so your data may be handled outside your country, including in the United States. Where data leaves the EEA or the UK, we rely on the transfer terms in our processors’ standard data processing agreements, which incorporate the European Commission’s Standard Contractual Clauses.
Children
Franpulse.ai is written for franchise professionals and investors. It is not directed at children, and we do not knowingly collect data from anyone under 16. If you believe a child has sent us data, tell us and we will remove it.
Changes to this policy
When what the site does changes, this page changes with it, and the date at the top moves. Material changes to how we use data you have already given us will be announced on the site before they take effect.
Contact
Privacy questions, rights requests and complaints all go to the FranchisePulse contact desk.
