The gap between edtech and education franchising

AI tutoring products are advancing quickly. Education *franchise systems* — the business layer of centres, enrolment, staffing and curriculum delivery — have adopted far less.

—Largely absent: operational forecasting, staffing optimisation, cross-centre performance analytics.

Why the caution is partly justified

Education franchises handle children's data. The compliance burden around minors' records is heavier than in retail or food, and it makes centralised data pooling a genuine legal question rather than a technical one.

A low score here is not simply a lag. Some of it is appropriate caution that a score cannot distinguish from inertia — a limitation of the measure we state openly.
