What is an AI Adoption Score?
The AI Adoption Score is Franpulse.ai's 0–100 measure of how deeply a franchise system has deployed AI, blending four weighted pillars: operations AI (35%), data infrastructure (30%), marketing AI (20%), and training and support AI (15%).
◆ As of Q3 2026: the Franchise AI Adoption Rate is 63/100 across 50 tracked systems.
It exists because no official body publishes a franchise AI statistic, and vendor surveys are not comparable across years.
What the score measures
Depth of verifiable deployment. A capability counts when it is observable — announced pilots do not score the same as network-wide rollouts.
What it deliberately does not measure
—Profitability. No verified dataset links AI depth to unit economics.
—Franchisee satisfaction.
—Quality of any individual tool.
Scoring what can be observed and refusing to score what cannot is what makes the number citable. A score covering profitability would be a guess wearing a decimal point.
Reading a score
Against a 63 industry average: 70+ is the leading group, below 50 is the laggard band. Compare within sector, because sector averages range from around 50 to 72.
Getting your own
Any brand can generate an indicative score free, using the same four pillars.
